December 2005 pictures

The skew bridge and widehole basin was cleared of several years of under/over growth and, for the first time in years, the widehole basin was seen in all its glory ! The work was undertaken by the RAF's 660 Squadron, who occasionally can be seen practicing their "crash landings" over the fields at the back of Wappenshall, and by a working party of the S&N canal society.  Please see the S&N trust web site for further photos.

Wappenshall Junction - clear again !

A brick has slipped at the front but seems secure.

View under bridge looking towards Shrewsbury Arm.

Another view from the top.
